Since the launch of AFL Masters QuickKick Initiative at the iconic MCG in March 2022, more than 2,000 women have registered across Australia. Vic Metro can connect clubs to the QuickKick resources and trained coaches for a safe, friendly and casual approach for women over 35 who would like to learn aa new sport. Designed to teach the basic skills of football (marking, kicking, hand-passing), the program is also valuable for learning the rules of the game, and to introduce new players to non contact and contact versions of the game. With seed funding provided by a Sport Participation Grant from Sport Australia, the program was free in 2022. In 2024, fees are yet to be advised.
