AFL Masters Victorian Metropolitan Football League

AFL Masters Vic Metro (AFLVM) is proud to announce a three-year partnership with Centaur Institute (Ci), bringing together two organisations united by a shared commitment to supporting the health, performance and long-term participation of the football community.

As Melbourne’s leading multidisciplinary team of Orthopaedic specialists, sports medicine experts, allied health, strength and conditioning professionals, and much more, they are dedicated to helping people get back to life and the activities they love. With this diverse expertise, Ci collaborate seamlessly to provide the highest level of care, which will be brought to the AFLVM community.

This exciting partnership will support clubs across the AFLVM, reinforcing our commitment to providing a safe, inclusive and enjoyable football environment for players aged 35 and over.

Over the next three years, Ci will provide meaningful support to the league by ensuring clubs and athletes have access to trusted expertise both on and off the field, including access to an Sports Injury Emergency Clinic on Sunday’s for timely assessment and management of acute injuries.

Any registered AFLVM player requiring medical treatment for cuts and bruises right through to more serious injuries such as joint and muscular issues, broken bones and concussion, can present at the clinic and be triaged to see a sports medicine professional within a matter of minutes, rather than hours spent waiting in the Emergency department at a hospital.

You’ll soon see the Ci logo featured on umpire uniforms. In addition, we will host a briefing session for club presidents, delegates, coaches, team managers, and trainers to learn more about the Institute’s services – including their Sunday opening hours.

“At Centaur Institute, we’re passionate about keeping people active at every stage of life. Partnering with AFL Masters Vic Metro as the Exclusive Sports Medicine Partner is a natural fit, and we’re excited to support a competition that values participation, wellbeing and community connection.” – Lawrence Furlan, General Manager, Centaur Institute

The partnership reflects the shared values of both organisations, promoting the long-term health and continued participation in sport. Over the next three years, both organisations look forward to working closely together to support the AFLVM community across Victoria.

Further details on the partnership and club benefits will be shared throughout the season. For more information, visit: https://centaur.com.au/ or contact Lawrence Furlan at [email protected]
