AFL Masters Victorian Metropolitan Football League

AFL Masters Victoria (AFLVM) is proud to announce its partnership with the Pat Cronin Foundation (PCF) for the 2026 season.

As part of this partnership, AFLVM’s Men’s Masters competition will take part in the Pat Cronin Foundation Round across the weekend of Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 May – a powerful initiative that extends far beyond football. The collaboration brings together AFLVM’s community-focused competition with one of Victoria’s most impactful social movements.

“We’re incredibly proud to be part of such an important weekend and to partner with the Pat Cronin Foundation. This collaboration reflects AFL Masters Vic Metro’s ongoing commitment to fostering respectful, safe and inclusive environments across our competition.

As a community-driven league, we recognise the important role sport plays in shaping behaviours and bringing people together. Initiatives like this not only raise awareness but also help drive meaningful conversations and positive change, both on and off the field. We’re pleased to stand alongside the Pat Cronin Foundation in supporting this message.”
Damian Bradley, AFLVM President

The PCF was established in honour of Pat Cronin, a young Victorian footballer whose life was tragically cut short by a coward punch in 2016. The Foundation works to empower young people and sporting communities to make safer, more informed choices, while challenging attitudes that tolerate violence. Through its education programs, PCF reaches schools, clubs and grassroots organisations across the state, helping build more respectful and resilient communities.

Each year, Pat Cronin Foundation Round unites tens of thousands of players and supporters across multiple leagues in a visible stand against violence. Participating clubs wear the Foundation’s signature yellow ‘Be Wise’ wristbands as a symbol of commitment to respect, safety and positive behaviour – both on and off the field.

For AFLVM, this partnership reflects our core values of mateship, community and wellbeing. We encourage all clubs to get behind the Pat Cronin Foundation Round – share the message, support the cause, and play your part in creating safer environments across our game.
